Website Design In Cathedral City
Just slightly northwest of Palm Desert lies the beautiful neighborhood of Cathedral City. This area is a favorite of people who do website design because of the beautiful towering cathedral-like rock formations. These stunning rock formations make great backdrops for web pages about the western part of the United States.
Living Desert Museum
The Living Desert Museum between Cathedral City and Palm Desert is a real treasure for anyone interested in nature. The zoo at this site is filled with desert animals you may not get to see anywhere else. Just watching meerkats is a delightful experience. You can also feed the giraffes and other desert animals. There are miles of hiking trails laid out so that you can do things like jumping from boulder to boulder to make your way along the path. You will see the habitats that exist in the Sonoran Desert and possibly see some wild animals that live in these habitats.
Historical Society of Palm Desert
Southeast of Cathedral City you will find the Historical Society of Palm Desert. It houses many of the historical artifacts of the area. Most interesting are the many aerial views of the Coachella Valley taken over the past 70 years. These photos give a visual representation of how Cathedral City and the entire area has developed over time.
Cathedral Canyon
To get a real idea of the Cathedral City namesake, you need to go out and hike in Cathedral Canyon. There you will find soaring rock formations with three walls that make you feel like you have walked into a cathedral when you are inside the walls. There are tons of choices for trails to follow and you can spend a lot of time trying out all the trails. There is also a Mountain Bike trail if that is your favorite way to see nature. Some of the trailheads are located very near neighborhoods so you don’t have to go out of your way to enjoy a lovely hike.
Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City
Of course, what neighborhood near Palm Desert could be complete without a casino? The Agua Caliente Band of the Cahuilla Indians has recently opened their third casino in this area. Not only do these casinos feed the local economy of Cathedral City/Palm Desert, but they also provide much-needed employment for the residents of the reservations. Being so close to Palm Springs also gives the Agua Caliente Casino a steady stream of visitors. With 30,000 square feet of gaming tables, you won't get bored quickly. And if you do, you can just go outside to the 12,000 square foot pavilion and enjoy the latest entertainers.
The Arts
But don’t think Cathedral City is all hiking and gambling. There is also a thriving art community. With 16 art studios to visit, you will see amazing new things. On the second Saturday of each month, there is a children’s art party. There is an art installation at the center of the city called The Fountain of Life. They have nicknamed it the sprayground because children and adults can play in it during the warm months.
